“UNITED WE WEPT” by Marsha Gertenbach-Meers
I felt inspired to create this sculpture as a tribute to the firefighters who bravely gave their lives while attempting to save others on September 11, 2001. Our country’s Eagle weeps for them.
As we all watched this terrible scene unfold, feelings of shock and grief overcame us. “911” changed the American way of life forever and awakened us to the reality that the hate and misguided purpose of terrorism were no longer restricted to foreign shores. “United we Wept”
My heart and prayer’s go out to all the families and friends of the victims of 911 and those who have fallen victim to the other senseless acts of terrorism around the world. | ||
